Jimbo Huckabee began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1995 after earning a degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. While attending Carolina, Jimbo was a member of the men’s tennis team. As a financial representative, Jimbo has achieved numerous industry and company specific awards and accolades.   He was appointed Managing Director for the Chapel Hill/Durham District Network Office in March of 2002. Jimbo is also a part of Northwestern Mutual’s Leadership Development Program and consistently qualifies for the Forum, the highest honor for a Financial Representative with Northwestern. In 2004 Jimbo received the coveted “40 Under 40” award which honors top young executives in the Triangle for excellence, leadership and innovation. 

In 2005 and 2008 Jimbo was honored with the company’s Managing Director Achievement Award. The award recognizes overall excellence in District Agency development, including productivity, recruitment and retention of Financial Representatives, and persistency in serving and retaining clients.

 
Jimbo serves on the board of DurhamCares, a faith based charity that helps create awareness among the residents of Durham who want to serve their community but aren’t sure how. He is also a board member of Hope Valley Country Club and is actively involved in several charities.
 
A lifetime resident of Durham, Jimbo lives with his wife Emmy and their three children; daughter Boyce, sons Quin and Sam and their Jack Russell Terrier, Ferris.
